Snow Ladies

The botanical garden in Spokan is beautiful in the summer.  Full of blooming plants, I'm sure you'd find a couple of favorites.  These dwarf Shasa Daisies are aptly named "Snow Lady".  So I guess a bunch of them would be considered "Ladies"

Day Lily

Living in the desert has some disadvantages.  There are a lot of cool weather plants that just won't grow here.  But that does give me an excuse to search out places where I can find beauties like these.  The botanical garden in Spokane, Washington has a huge collection of day lilies.  Too bad this exotic flower only lasts a day, hence the name, Day Lily.

Zucchini Blossoms

Summer is past but these zucchini blossoms bring back warm summer days and a garden full of fresh produce.  A friend of mine in Spokane started a community garden and these were just some of the fruits of their labors.  I enjoyed walking up and down the rows looking at the ripening vegetables.

Japanese Tea Garden

Spokane's beautiful Japanese Tea Garden is small but wonderfully landscaped. I loved the reflections of the Japanese maple tree in the koi pond.

Crossing the Columbia

This is my first view of the Columbia River crossing from Oregon to Washington. It was a spectacular sight, especially since I noticed a small boat in the bottom right foreground afterwards. I don't know how close he was to the dam but I wouldn't want to be there.
